Lian’s Tempeh Chips are created with time, care, and true expertise.
Instead of mass production, our chips are made from high-quality tempeh, which is naturally fermented for 48 hours to develop its signature nutty, savoury flavor. The thinly sliced tempeh is then fried in small batches in pure coconut oil and subsequently baked in the oven. This two-step process creates a light, extra-crunchy texture.

This is how we show that irresistible taste is not created through shortcuts, but through quality and patience.

How do Lian's Tempeh Chips taste?

Our original variety is delicately salty, pleasantly nutty, and 100% crunchy. Thanks to the natural fermentation process, our Tempeh Chips naturally develop a pleasant nutty, slightly savory taste, and that with only a few, natural ingredients. The thinly sliced tempeh pieces are fried in pure coconut oil and then baked in the oven. This ensures the light and extra crunchiness of our Tempeh Chips.

Why do we use coconut oil?

We deliberately chose high-quality coconut oil over cheap palm and seed oils. There are three good reasons for this:

  • Heat Stability: Coconut oil is naturally extremely stable at high temperatures, so almost no unhealthy trans fats are created during frying.
  • Taste & Crunchiness: Coconut oil gives our Tempeh Chips a particularly fine, crunchy texture and enhances the nutty aroma of the tempeh without overpowering it.
  • Heritage & Tradition: Coconuts, just like tempeh, are deeply rooted in Indonesian cuisine. By using coconut oil, we remain true to the authentic taste profile of our heritage.

After frying, we bake our Tempeh Chips again in the oven. This removes excess fat and gives them a particularly light crunchiness.

Where do the soybeans come from?

Our soybeans are sourced from Canada and guaranteed non-GMO. This way, you can always be sure of the high quality of our Tempeh Chips.
